01Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how FuelFinder ("FuelFinder", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our website and services (the "Platform"), in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 ("NDPA"). It applies to customers, business accounts, vendors, and drivers.
02Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you give us — name, email address, phone number, password, delivery addresses, business or vendor details (business name, registration number, address), and bank details submitted by drivers for payouts.
- Order and transaction information — fuel type and quantity ordered, order status, pricing, and payment records (we do not receive or store your full card number — card payments are processed by Paystack).
- Location information — delivery addresses you provide, and a driver's live location while an active delivery is in progress, so it can be shown to the customer for that order.
- Communications — messages you send us, including through the contact form, and any correspondence about your account or an order.
- Technical information — device and browser information, IP address, and basic usage data collected automatically when you use the Platform.
03How we use your information
We use personal data to:
- Create and manage your account, and verify your identity.
- Process orders — matching customers with vendors and drivers, and sharing the information each party needs to fulfil an order (e.g. a driver sees the delivery address; a vendor sees the order details).
- Process payments and driver payouts through Paystack.
- Send transactional communications — order updates, password resets, email verification, and responses to messages you send us.
- Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Platform, including preventing fraud.
- Comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes between users.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
04Who we share information with
- Other users, to fulfil an order — e.g. a vendor and driver see what's needed to deliver your order; a customer sees the name and phone number of the driver assigned to them.
- Paystack, our payment processor, to process card payments, transfers, and driver payouts.
- Service providers who host our infrastructure or help us operate the Platform, bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by Nigerian law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FuelFinder or our users.
05Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to comply with our legal obligations (including tax and financial record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account as described in Section 7 below.
06Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing, and access controls limiting who can see your data internally. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
07Your rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@fuelfinder.energy. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
08Location data
A driver's location is only shared with a customer while that driver has an active delivery for that customer's order, so progress can be tracked on a live map. We do not track or store a driver's location outside of active deliveries.
09Children's privacy
The Platform is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10International data transfers
Some of our infrastructure providers may store or process data outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data continues to receive an equivalent standard of protection, consistent with NDPA requirements for cross-border data transfers.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the Platform or by email before they take effect.
